Why is this important?
However, even if we or an angel out of heaven were to declare to you as good news something beyond the good news we declared to you, let him be accursed.
Everyone who denies the Son does not have the Father either. But whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.
1 John 2:23
Everyone who pushes ahead and does not remain in the teaching of the Christ does not have God. The one who does remain in this teaching is the one who has both the Father and the Son.
2 John 1:9
Does Jehovah share his glory?
I am Jehovah. That is my name; I give my glory to no one else, Nor my praise to graven images.
For my own sake, for my own sake I will act, For how could I let myself be profaned? I give my glory to no one else.
So now, Father, glorify me at your side with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was... 20 "I make request, not concerning these only, but also concerning those putting faith in me through their word, 21 so that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in union with me and I am in union with you, that they also may be in union with us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. 22 I have given them the glory that you have given me, in order that they may be one just as we are one. 23 I in union with them and you in union with me, in order that they may be perfected into one, so that the world may know that you sent me and that you loved them just as you loved me. 24 Father, I want those whom you have given me to be with me where I am, in order that they may look upon my glory that you have given me, because you loved me before the founding of the world."
Who is the Savior?
"I-I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior."
For today there was born to you in David's city a savior, who is Christ the Lord.
Who is the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last?
"I am the Al'pha and the O-me'ga," says Jehovah God, "the One who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty."
"'Look! I am coming quickly, and the reward I give is with me, to repay each one according to his work. 13 I am the Al'pha and the O-me'ga, the first and the last, the beginning and the end... 16 "'I, Jesus, sent my angel to bear witness to you about these things for the congregations. I am the root and the offspring of David and the bright morning star.'" 20 "The one who bears witness of these things says, 'Yes, I am coming quickly.'" "Amen! Come, Lord Jesus."
Listen to me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I have called. I am the same One. I am the first; I am also the last.
When I saw him, I fell as dead at his feet. And he laid his right hand on me and said: "Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last, 18 and the living one, and I became dead, but look! I am living forever and ever, and I have the keys of death and of the Grave.
Was Jesus crucified on a cross or a torture stake?
So the other disciples were telling him: "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them: "Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, I will never believe it."
Why does the text say "nails"?
They also posted above his head the charge against him, in writing: "This is Jesus the King of the Jews."
Why wouldn't the text say "above his hands"?
Was Jesus raised bodily or just spiritually?
While they were speaking of these things, he himself stood in their midst and said to them: "May you have peace." 37 But because they were terrified and frightened, they imagined that they were seeing a spirit. 38 So he said to them: "Why are you troubled, and why have doubts come up in your hearts? 39 See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself; touch me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones just as you see that I have."
Well, eight days later his disciples were again indoors, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, although the doors were locked, and he stood in their midst and said: "May you have peace." 27 Next he said to Thomas: "Put your finger here, and see my hands, and take your hand and stick it into my side, and stop doubting but believe."
Did Jesus return spiritually in 1914?
Then the sign of the Son of man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief, and they will see the Son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Look! He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced him; and all the tribes of the earth will beat themselves in grief because of him. Yes, Amen.
Did Jehovah and Jesus both receive worship? (Both texts contain the same Greek word - Proskuneo)
Who will not really fear you, Jehovah, and glorify your name, for you alone are loyal? For all the nations will come and worship (proskuneo) before you, because your righteous decrees have been revealed."
"Where is the one born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when we were in the East, and we have come to do obeisance (proskuneo) to him."
Before whom will every knee bow and tongue confess?
Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth,
For I am God, and there is no one else. 23 By myself I have sworn;
The word has gone out of my mouth in righteousness,
And it will not return: To me every knee will bend,
Every tongue will swear loyalty.
So that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend-of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground- 11 and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.
If the Holy Spirit is only an "active force", how do you explain these verses...?
As they were ministering to Jehovah and fasting, the holy spirit said: "Set aside for me Bar'na-bas and Saul for the work to which I have called them."
"I still have many things to say to you, but you are not able to bear them now. 13 However, when that one comes, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own initiative, but what he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things to come."
And he came to us and took Paul's belt and tied his own feet and hands and said: "Thus says the holy spirit, 'The man to whom this belt belongs will be bound like this by the Jews in Jerusalem, and they will give him into the hands of people of the nations.'"
How much greater punishment do you think a person will deserve who has trampled on the Son of God and who has regarded as of ordinary value the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and who has outraged the spirit of undeserved kindness with contempt?
But Peter said: "An-a-ni'as, why has Satan emboldened you to lie to the holy spirit and secretly hold back some of the price of the field? 4 As long as it remained with you, did it not remain yours? And after it was sold, was it not in your control? Why have you thought up such a deed as this in your heart? You have lied, not to men, but to God."
Who is the Creator?
This is what Jehovah says, your Repurchaser, Who formed you since you were in the womb: "I am Jehovah, who made everything. I stretched out the heavens by myself, And I spread out the earth. Who was with me?
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; 16 because by means of him all [other] things were created in the heavens and on the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities. All [other] things have been created through him and for him. 17 Also, he is before all [other] things, and by means of him all [other] things were made to exist.
All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence. What has come into existence… He was in the world, and the world came into existence through him, but the world did not know him.
Long ago you laid the foundations of the earth, And the heavens are the work of your hands. 26 They will perish, but you will remain; Just like a garment they will all wear out. Just like clothing you will replace them, and they will pass away. 27 But you are the same, and your years will never end.
But about the Son, he says: "God is your throne forever and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of uprightness. 9 You loved righteousness, and you hated lawlessness. That is why God, your God, anointed you with the oil of exultation more than your companions." 10 And: "At the beginning, O Lord, you laid the foundations of the earth, and the heavens are the works of your hands. 11 They will perish, but you will remain; and just like a garment, they will all wear out, 12 and you will wrap them up just as a cloak, as a garment, and they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never come to an end."
If the only true name for God is "Jehovah", and to call God by any other name is to dishonor Him, how can you honestly say that you are being consistent with the following verses?
In whose name should we meet together? (Matthew 18:20; 1 Corinthians 5:4)
Demons are subject to whose name? (Luke 10:17; Acts 16:18)
Repentance and forgiveness should be preached in whose name? (Luke 24:47)
In whose name are you to believe and receive the forgiveness of sins? (John 1:12; 3:16; Acts 10:43; I John 3:23; 5:13)
By whose name, and NO OTHER, do we obtain salvation? (Acts 4:12)
Whose name should be invoked as we bring our petitions to God in prayer? (John 14:13, 14; 15:16; 16:23, 24)
In whose name is the Holy Spirit sent? (John 14:26)
Whose name and authority was invoked by the disciples in healing the sick and lame? (Acts 3:16; 4:7-10, 30)
Whose name did Paul tell us to call upon? (1 Corinthians 1:2)
Whose name is above every name? (Ephesians 1:21; Philippians 2:9-11)
The answer to each of these questions is Jesus Christ, not Jehovah.
